MORE ABOUT THE ROLE
The Leader, Children and Parent Ministries, will bring together and oversee our community of children age 0 to 12 years, their parents, carers and our volunteer leaders. You will lead the establishment of a vibrant worship and learning space for our children to grow as powerful sons and daughters of God.
Initially, we are looking for you to work with us in establishing and leading a team of volunteers to develop and deliver an age-appropriate weekly Sunday morning program. Following this we want to discuss the potential of another midweek opportunity for children and their parents. These programs will guide, support and encourage children in understanding, hearing and learning about Jesus and what it means to accept Him into their lives, love His presence and be empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Have a heart for helping children to see and know the joy and excitement of hearing and having Jesus in their young lives
Be warm and genuine, honest and hard working
Be discreet and able to maintain confidences
Be discerning, professional and relational in interacting with children and their parents.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful in this role you will:
Be an excellent mobiliser, equipper and trainer of others
Have great organisational and administration skills
Be creative, energetic and genuine in your interactions with others
Know God's Word to a level where it can be effectively used as a tool for ministry
Have a good understanding of child developmental issues (or capacity to do so)
Have an ability to remain calm and implement workable solutions
Be a good “delegator”
Have excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
Have gifts in leadership, teaching and encouragement
Relate well to both children and parents
Have a proven ability to work harmoniously within a team environment
Be able to resource the ministry with appropriate curriculum
Hillview Community Church practices Child Safe Polices and as such all candidates are expected to abide by these policies and continue in the implementation of them.
Experience working in Children’s ministry is preferred (but not essential).
REMUNERATION AND CONDITIONS
This is a paid role for 2 working days (including Sundays during school term) and requires a current Police Check and Working with Children’s Check. Remuneration will be discussed upon application.
